The Director of PVF will be responsible for coordinating the sales and marketing efforts for a specific product group of pipe, valves, & fittings through the utilization of branch sales teams and corporate purchasing. This position also maintains close customer/ vendor relations with key accounts/sources while investigating new accounts and sourcing opportunities.
Ø Coordinate major quotation efforts for the product group with the team of product specialists
Ø Discuss market conditions with vendors & customers
Ø Conduct sales calls on current and target accounts
Ø Assist purchasing in maintaining replacement costs.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of business-related experience in the metals industry; knowledge of pipe, valves, & fittings is a definite plus. This position requires an aggressive self-starter who is goal-oriented and a team player. The successful candidate must possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written), strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong customer relationships. In addition, we are looking for someone with good presentation skills who can project a professional public image consistent with Chicago Tube and Iron’s place in the steel service center industry; impeccable business ethics are essential. A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field of study is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
