The Purchasing Agent provides support to the branch by placing orders with vendors for stock and non-stock products, as well as process all returned product. The position will establish a keen attention to detail to ensure a system is in place for maintaining inventory levels and availability and will also guarantee a high level of customer service when dealing with vendors and other team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Reviews suggested purchase order queue.

  • Places orders for “special” or non-stock products for customers.

  • Will Process all defective, non-stock or overstock returned goods product.

  • Reviews lost sale report and places orders and/or adjust inventory as needed.

  • Reviews Purchase Order Expedite Queue.

  • Reviews inventory adjustment report.

  • Runs suggested transfer queue daily.

  • Work procurement confirmation queue, this queue should be looked at once an hour.

  • Work suggested PO emergency queue, after transfers and first look at procurement queue.

  • Work remainder of suggested PO que sorted by asd $ carry cost

  • Work return goods queue, this needs to be done daily.

  • Request RGA’s from vendors, process rts invoices.

  • Work PO expedite queue as time allows, must be worked at least once a week.

REQUIRED SKILLS /ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • At least two years of purchasing experience required.

  • Basic knowledge of Eclipse and company operating system.
