Overview
The Reece USA Digital Solutions team is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager with a passion for eCommerce and a strong technical background. In this role, you'll lead a global, dynamic team responsible for shaping the digital experiences of our customers and employees across our distribution channels. Your primary focus will be to drive software product development from inception to production to ongoing maintenance, emphasizing modular, scalable web components. The ideal candidate will have a broad set of e-commerce work experience ranging from large corporations to startups, and potentially time as a founding entrepreneur of a digital solution. This role reports to the Vice President of Innovation and Digital Solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strong technical leadership with the ability to grasp the broader context and mentor junior developers while empowering senior team members.

Cultivate relationships and inspire your team, fostering a culture of trust where questions are welcomed, and open dialogue is encouraged.

Demonstrate a readiness and enthusiasm to adapt work priorities in alignment with evolving business requirements.

Take ownership of your role, comprehending the business impact of the team's work, and proactively suggesting alternatives that benefit the entire organization.

Serve as the spokesperson for the technology aspects of our desktop and mobile e-commerce platforms, engaging stakeholders, partnering across divisions, and exemplifying true leadership.

Anticipate tech needs within the organization, proactively plan, and allocate resources to address crucial technical debt issues without compromising the team's efficiency.

Establish and maintain engineering standards, practices, and processes while safeguarding institutional knowledge.

Analyze software performance metrics to lead process improvements.

Oversee workforce planning, talent development, and policy enforcement for development and architecture, including the supervision of a team of 15+ employees.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Accumulated over 10 years of experience in Engineering or Development roles.

Brings more than 4 years of experience in leading and managing teams.

Nurtures an entrepreneurial spirit and drive, capable of running a structured team while minimizing unnecessary complexity and prioritizing speedy delivery.

Demonstrates humble confidence, knowing they can handle the job while remaining open to alternatives and treating people well.

Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills, effectively articulating and defending positions.

Brings experience in software lifecycle, system integration, proposal development, and creating defensible Basis of Estimates.

Demonstrates exposure to or hands-on experience with cloud architectures, microservice architectures, and Agile software development.

Maintains a sense of humor – approaches work with dedication while fostering a light-hearted perspective.
Nice-to-haves:

M.S. degree in Computer Science or related advanced degree preferred.

Experience guiding a global team. This role requires managing US and Mexico based developers.

Conversational in Spanish is not a requirement, but bonus points for the additional skill set!
