Estimating is a critical role for our Waterworks division, as it provides a clear way to differentiate ourselves from our competitors.  Responsiblities include developing and implementing best practices across all markets within the division, training and onboarding of our estimators, and streamlining our estimation processes and tools.  This role will also be the business owner of our estimating software, PlanSwift.

•    Develop and drive best operational practices for Waterworks estimating roles, constantly looking for better, more efficient ways to gain productivity
•    Establish close relationships quickly and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including executives, senior leaders, teams of experienced estimators, and key external partners
•    Build the capability Waterworks estimators and ensure consistency across division
•    Onboard new estimators and deliver an enhanced people experience consistently
•    Serve as the subject matter business expert for PlanSwift software to ensure that the Waterworks division is realizing full potential of software
•    Provide feedback, instruction, and development guidance to help others excel in their job responsibilities
•    Develop metrics and track efficacy of estimators (bid variance, time to completion, accuracy, etc.)
•    Stay current on industry and market trends, estimation practices and tools, etc.
•    Perform other duties as assigned
•    Familiarity with Waterworks project and construction plans
•    Ability to influence without direct reports; Using effective involvement and persuasion strategies to gain acceptance of ideas and commitment to actions that support specific work outcomes
•    Strong drive for results and goal-orientation, using measurement methods to monitor progress toward goals
•    Independent worker with a self-starter mindset
•    Highly detailed and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
•    Demonstrated ability to build capability through training (both classroom settings and 1:1)
•    Charismatic leader that will provide estimating team with energy and a singular vision
•    Active listening to others to effectively identify and understand problems and opportunities
•    Technology savvy, including demonstrated PlanSwift competency and knowledge of MS Office tools

What education and experience are required?
•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    2-3+ years as an Estimator
•    PlanSwift knowledge
•    Prior experience in training and influencing others
•    Prior construction (preferably Waterworks) experience

•    Strong customer service, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
